Pam Bowen, owner and instructor of WAH, She is a certified riding instructor with American Riding Instructors Association. She is also certified in Stable Management. Pam has years of experience and enjoys riding many disciplines. Her main discipline is riding Pleasure, English and Western. She enjoys riding her gaited horse on trial as well.
Pam started teaching in 1998, by sharing her love of horses with others. Her motivation and determination for always doing her best created "Wild About Horses Equestrian Center. She has successfully owned, operated, and has been the primary instructor since 1988. She is known to be the best in the county when offering lessons to youth and adults. WAH has 18 lesson horses to choose from, from the quiet ponies, to refined pleasure horses. WAH is not an active show barn, although we do participate in local open shows and participate in 2, 4-H programs. It's just hard for us to travel and keep a lesson program running as it should. Pam is very dedicated to her students and her horses. Only the best for WAH!
Pam, born and raised in MA enjoyed horses as a child, and enjoyed riding with her grandfather, an active Endurance Rider. Her 1st pony Cindy, will always be a fond memory and as her 1st ribbon for a 5 mile ride endurance ride at the age of 5. Horses were always a part of everyday life and the chores that went along with it. As a teenager Pam enjoyed being a part of High School band, as a Colorguard member and always held a part time job. After college Pam, living in Ft. Lauderdale, FL area, continued riding and training and was very active in the South Florida Trail riders of Broward County for years, and served as Vice President until she relocated to IN. She organized many clinics, trail rides all over the state of FL. She especially enjoyed working along with City officials to create and develop Equestrian Parks and Trails connecting parks together. Being so involved in such activities gave her experience in business knowledge, safety in development of riding areas, and the satisfaction that her hard work made a difference for every horseman to allow more trail systems in the area to secure them. Pam moved to IN in 1997 and loves living in the Midwest.
Pam's personal highest goal is not in show arena. Training her all our school horses for the benefit of teaching her students to become safe, confident and disciplined riders is her highest goal. She continues to educate herself in her riding abilities as well as attending US Training Conferences held by world known successful clinicians.
Most of all she enjoys sharing her passion with others, meeting new families and watching her students meet their goals and dreams. |
